Myopia control glasses are specially designed eyeglasses aimed at slowing the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children and adolescents. Myopia occurs when the eyeball is too long or the cornea has too much curvature, causing light to focus in front of the retina, resulting in blurred distance vision. These glasses use various optical techniques to alter how light enters the eye and interacts with the retina, thereby reducing the stimulus for the eye to elongate further.
